To adopt or foster, we require that you fill out a very short application, completely and thoroughly. Incomplete applications are an instant rejection. You will then receive a phone call from one of our adoption coordinators, who will go over the application as well as ask some more in-depth questions. Typically, a meet & greet is scheduled (if choosing to adopt) with the chosen dog. This is preferably done in the adopters home so a home check can be done and the coordinator can go over our the adoption agreement with the adopter. If the adopter is ready, and coordinator has approval from the director, they may begin their two week trial period that day, or on an agreed date. At this time, half of the adoption fee is due. Should the adopter decide anytime during that two week time period that they do not want the dog, they may contact the coordinator who will pick up the dog and refund the money paid, unless another dog is requested. Once the two week trial period is over, the adoption coordinator will return with the adoption form, sign the paperwork and collect the other half of the adoption fee. A printed adoption certificate will then be mailed to the adopters. The adoption fee for fully vetted, heart-worm negative, altered dogs is $125. Puppies under 6 months old are $80 and it is the responsibility of the adopter to alter the dog no more than one month after the dog has become of age to be altered.
